Moving Back to a Bottom-Up Approach to Tech Investment

Keynote Speaker Eric Johnson

Over the past decade, a convergence of trends has revolutionized the purchasing landscape for logistics and supply chain professionals. The fusion of buzz-worthy advancements like blockchain, automation, and generative AI, coupled with an influx of venture capital, birthed a fertile ground for new entities. Like the Cambrian explosion, startups seized upon the perceived inefficiencies of antiquated systems. Yet, the endurance of these ventures remains uncertain.

Nevertheless, the surge of startups, alongside a heightened awareness of pivotal technologies like blockchain and AI, reshaped the logistics technology marketplace. Now, with executive-level involvement, practitioners navigate a nuanced terrain where expertise drives purchasing decisions, challenging even Excel’s enduring dominance.
